Looking back at one of our highlights this year, one of the most important ones was definitely when our Felicity rose won an award during Society of American Florists Convention 2024 as Best in Class Cut Rose for the Outstanding Varieties Competition and we also won the award for People’s Choice.

We were so shocked we won! It was our first time at a SAF convention we weren’t 100% sure how the expo and the competition worked, we really didn’t know what to expect. When I was at the welcome breakfast and our name was announced I was so confused! First, I was very grateful that our name was pronounced correctly as it is constantly mispronounced, and then I was so surprised I even gasped loudly.

It was finally time to go up to get our prize! I felt so proud that our Agrivaldani was able to share the stage with representatives from the other winners that belong to the most prestigious farms from different countries. It was definitely a very special moment for us. Back home everyone was celebrating sending all the WhatsApp stickers necessary to express their emotions (I need to highlight that stickers are our love language).

Felicity is such a stunning variety and it’s one of our favorites. It’s not brand new in the market but it’s new at our farm and since the first time we saw it, the color just blew us away. Although it’s a peach colored rose, it’s so bright that I swear it shines. We knew it would be interesting and the foliage it has is spectacular. Our lovely client helped us make a beautiful arrangement and the roses were gorgeous at the center table along with all the other stunning winners.

Winning this special prize was definitely the best way to start the SAF 2024 Convention. We then had more days full of very interesting conferences and a day with an interactive workshop that was such a great way to network with people from different parts of the industry while sharing ideas on how to improve our businesses. I loved that workshop so much as I was able to meet very interesting and talented industry peers from all over the industry and brainstorm about important subjects. It was a very rewarding experience and we’ll definitely return next year!
